Gathering Speed

The last week or so was spent in search of some top end speed. Sprint intervals, a fast group ride w as many attacks as my legs would allow, and some steady state with sprints sprinkled in like your favorite spice. As Chris would say I think the spring is pushed all the way down so we'll see if it plays out this weekend. I am stoked to be racing with the nations best mtb's on one of our home courses at the Subaru Cup Pro XCT at Mt Morris, especially after missing it this past year. I feel stronger on the bike than I have in a long time and if I can keep my weight down it should equal a solid result. It's tough with co-workers who bring in awesome treats like this:

However, after a big ride a table filled with cupcakes is fair game, don't you think?

The wedding that provided the cupcakes took place in a converted barn. The silo was the bar and the roof a skylight, making for an interesting space:

In the downtime we went and saw one of my favorite bands from the 90's, Swervedriver for free at Taste of Randolph:

And of course the weekly 7am rain shower; lightning was striking the Hancock building but it wouldn't do it while I had my camera out. I got this pic instead:

Ok that's all for now. Got some work to do on the equipment side...
